I have an 08 6.4 Lariet with a 6 speed manual trans. I added a H&S Mini Maxx and an AFE Stage II, DPF deleted, and I am having a terrible time with the amount of smoke out of it. I cannot get out of any gear without a substantial "puff". I have tried all the low boost fueling options and the different pre defined settings on the module with little change. It is getting to the point Im thinking of putting the DPF back on. Any thoughts?
Tuned trucks will do that and it will be even more pronounced on a manual because the boost drops between shifts and you're back on the skinny pedal and (over) fueling it. I'm not sure what a substantial "puff" is; are we talking solar eclipse or a haze? I run both Innovative and Gearhead tunes (SCT LW) on my truck and the IDP tunes will overfuel and can be seen from space if I get on it just right (meaning WRONG) while the Gearhead tunes will barely haze under WOT. A lot of it is in the tuning and it sounds like you're trying to work around it; I'd reach out to H&S directly, or worse case scenario, ditch it and get a SCT with Gearhead tunes...
Okay, sorry if this has been asked/answered a couple of hundred times. If I eliminate the DPF with afternmarket muffler & tuner, will I still be able to pass state inspection in Texas?
I am out of warranty and do not care what the dealer may think.

Yes. There is no emissions testing on diesels in Texas. I have no EGRs or DPF/DOC and it's just roll in, safety check, pay $14.50, get a sticker and roll out.
Glad to live in the promise land were I can do what I want with my truck and carry my gun...

Of course you could live in georgia where we don't have to do that $14.50 thing either. In fact, we don't even require seat belt use in pick up trucks. You know, ya gotta keep getting out and opening the gates.

just for a sec. Do you know how to disable the seat belt alarm chime? I usually have my seat belt, but when I'm out at the ranch I have to resort to just connecting the seatbelt behind my back.

On the H & S tuners you can change the amount of fuel dumped in and make coal roll if you want to but I always thought why waste the fuel. I have mine set to minimally blow smoke.
I agree that it is necessary on a Dbag hybrid purposely going slower than the speed limit thinking that you will save fuel too by them doing this. Yes, I live in WA and they do this on purpose all of the time.
What H&S tuner are you running and how are you adjusting your fuel flow?
