I bought a 1998 ford f150 2wd straight cab long bed 4.6L 5spd manual, it comes with a campershell and carpet. I paid $2000 for it, some people have said I overpaid, granted I had to buy tires for it, but it came with the orignal rims so I didnt have to buy rims. But it runs like new, and it passed california smog, I feel like I stole it. What do you all think, did I overpay?
In this market, anything that does not need body work or other repairs sells for that much. Granted, its not an extended cab automatic, but reg cab long beds, especially with a V-8 stick combo are rare. You got what you wanted at an agreed upon price. Be happy with your purchase!
sounds decent to me,if ti runs good and is in decent shape. Hard to find a good running truck around here that isn't a rust bucket for less then $2500.

Don't second guess yourself, you did just fine. Two years ago I sold my '88 F-150 4x4 for $2200.00. It had some rust, paint was dead, had a blown rear axle, the clutch needed replacing and it needed tires. She ran like a top and under the hood was like factory as well as the interior. I had done a lot of work to it over the years to keep it running well.
Thanks for the replys, I probably shouldnt worry about what other real life people said, after all this is California Im living in.Ive got a saturn if I want fuel economy but its nice to have something bigger then that ranger I had, plus I can have a real boat now. If the boat is too big to be towed by the f150 then chances are I cant afford the boat anyways.
