A buddy of mine has a 1979 ford f-100 for sale. Its a standard cab bed with newer tires n aftermarket rims. He just put a brand new crank kit in it n a few seals(dnt no which ones). It runs great starts easy n runs like a top. He said he would sell it to me for $1500, is that a good price and how much is it worth? 351M it has a straight cab, very little rust, but there is a dent on the bed that can be possed out n then bondoed. Thats all the info i have on it.

I know the guy who is selling it and ive driven it. It drives perfect and runs perfect. Needs only little minor things such as that dent removed and maybe 1 or 2 other small things.
Yeah i agree 1500 aint bad at all and if he is a good friend you would think he would give you a fair deal its hard to say what its worth without seeing it hearing and driving it like million said it sounds like a decent truck if starts runs and drives absolutely fine then go for it
he said if i dnt get it hes gonna fix the dent n bondo it so itll have a perfectly straight body and a few other things for it and then hes gonna put it up for 2500 and down here round this area itll b gone in a few weeks. He said whether i get it or not hes gonna have the transmission looked at and make sure nothing is gonna go out soon and jest have a transmission checkup cuz he rebuilt the bottom end of the motor n it runs strong and he just wants to make sure its goin to be on the road for a long time
Hell, I would say a great deal. If that truck is as good as you describe, than 1500 isn't much. I kinda makes me sick when people are buying really good trucks for that kind of money. If things work out, I'm going to have over 3K invested in body parts. Hood, Doors, fenders are all NOS parts and the bed I'm looking at is rust free/dent free with the racetrack style chrome with dual tanks. I have yet to buy my grill shell and inserts so add another 600 bucks for that. So, I think your getting a great deal!!! When you really think about it, If you find a truck with a rust free and straight body, no matter what else is wrong with the truck, like if it had a bad motor or tranny, than it's worth something. Think about what you would be spending for individual parts.
Yea thats what he was saying. He could part out the entire truck n make more than itsworth but he doesnt want 2 do it he wants to keep it all together in one piece. il try to get some pictures for you guys of it and yall tell me what you think it might make a week or so but il get the pics.
