My gut tells me that your wheel bearings are worn or loose and need to be inspected/repacked/adjusted. I don't think the locker wiggling has much to do with the 6 little bolts. Take the whole thing apart and inspect the spindle for wear too.
I have had to replace a couple of spindles over the years due to abuse and neglect and improper maintenance. You can't run your truck through mud and water and expect the grease to remain in the hub forever.
Correct they are six bolts.
I'm not sure how old they are, they were on the truck when i bought it two months ago.
They appear to be in good working order.
My drivers side outer bearing fell apart when i took the rotor off to repack them.
And my spindle was wore down really good, so i replaced the bearings and spindle,u-joint and dust shield, and ball joints on that side a few weeks ago.

So i checked the play on the passenger side and it had some slop in it, so i just tightened the bearing nuts. I plan on replacing the bearing and ball joints and etc on the passenger side, so I'll check the spindle when i tear it all apart.

So a wore spindle would cause play in the inner part of the lockout?

I have the passenger side tore apart, the spindle looks to be in alright shape, some jack weed took a pair of locking pliers the middle tho, not where the bearings ride, but in between them.
I cleaned the hub, and it all looks to be in good order, so i think I'll try a new outer circle ring and o ring and see if that helps.

Update##
When i went to install the new races, the outer one fell right in without even tapping on it, so i had to order a new hub just for that fact.
After putting everything back together, the lockout no longer wiggles in the hub, so i guess that hub was long overdue for replacement.
Just finishing my post so others will know what to look for if they have similar problems.
