sensor on fpr

What is the sensor on the fpr? My 96 has one but my 95 does not. Nothing is wrong with it just didnt know why one had it and the other didnt.

It is the "fuel filter restriction sensor", filter clogged thing. It probably was leaking and previous owner did not want to purchase one so they just plugged the hole.

It is on the fpr itself not the fuel bowl. It looks like a vacume line that goes to it but i haven pulled it off to be sure on that. It is right next to shreader valve (spelling). Sorry cant post pics with my phone. It Looks like it came stock with it.

Chances are that your 95 also has the restriction sensor, just in a different location

94-95 had the sensor mounted on the lower rear portion of the fuel bowl



and for 96-97 it was moved up to the side of the FPR

Nope, that's the water in fuel sensor the was relocated.

Ya thats what it is. Thanks rodney. I didnt know they changed the the bowl around like that.

WIF sensor was on the side of the bowl just below the fuel heater plug on the 94-97 bowls

Yea, it's actually a vacuum switch that lights the fuel filter light on the dash when it senses that the pump is having a hard time pulling fuel through a clogged filter.

Thanks for the info guys. We havent had to do hardly in work to the 96. It only gets used when Dad or I have time to do side jobs. I Just noticed yeterday when i had the cps problem and was checking fuel presure.
