Riffraff or Diesel O rings can sell you everything you need for o rings. My local dealerships try to sell me the whole IPR or Fuel bowl vs just o rings.

Good info on the whole "replacing IPR o-rings" while you are doing it.
I dont recall if ducky mentions that in his super duty hpop install writeup... which will be my referance when im doing my t-500.
Any other good things to do while you have the fuel bowl out and such?

The Ducks write up, which I used, says he replaces the IPR.

As smoky stated above, do the soft fuel lines and clean out the valley. Not a bad time to do the fuel bowl o rings either. Make sure you don't over tighten the HPOP bolts. Just ask Glenn about that one...

Now, now Todd, I used a torque wrench, didn't over tighten them. It was the forth time changing out the pump and the threads just got wore out. Joey at Terminator said he has seen this happen hundreds of times. Use a anti-seize on the threads as a lube. Drilling them out and taping, then putting in inserts was no fun in that tight spot.

Yeah I'm glad I didn't know this was an issue when I did mine. I probably would have been peeing myself reinstalling it.

And I wasn't trying to insinuate that you didn't torque them to proper specs Glenn, just that it gave you fits, which seems to happen to me often.

NO, I knew you were insinuating anything. You know, I never thought of using urine as a thread protector, LOL. What happened to me, I feel by posting it, it was a warning to others what happens after repeated hpop changes. I posted a thread entitled something like 'multiple hpop changes' and even got a REP for warning others to beware. If anybody was going to pee themselves it was me hanging over the motor with a angle drill praying that I would drill a straight line. Nate was right, the old holes provided a good guide and the drill went straight. Even worse then that was the fear of drilling in to far and ruining the front timing cover. The motor has to be pulled to change that out!!!!

Oh wow i will be careful. I am horrible about following torque specs on stuff like that i just use what always worked... Tight and just a touch more. I got home late today, moping out the valley was all i accomplished. Tomorow i will clean my ipr and then hopefully get it back together..after my tax appointment.

Knowing full well that my bolt holes were striped out but still holding a little I drove it about a mile for a front end alignment that I had scheduled. The night before I read that the angle cuts on the gear drive actually suck the pump into the front cover when the motor is running. I believe that's true because when you think about it, there are only two little bolts holding that pump on that builds pressure's up to 3,000+psi. So, they don't need to be all that tight!

OK! I got the T500 installed and the crewcab is runnin like a dream. It seems to be more peppy and the idle sounds alot more even. I noticed my Hpop resevoir top cover gasket must be bad because there is a noticable oil leak coming from it. I will probably tackle that next week. I also finally got a desktop computer so hopefully I can get some pics downloaded... Thanks guys! Chad.
