I have a 1971 ford f-100 lwb with a 390 and a c-6 behind it i recently blew the head gaskets and i found a dentside ford f-350 dually with a 360 and a 4-speed i was wondering what all will bolt up. i know the engine should fit right in but will the transmission fit, will the drive shaft fit and also will all the clutch linkages work in the older model pickup any help would be appreciated. thank you for your time
Since the 4 speed was offered in the early trucks it should bolt up fine. Just take as much from the dually as you can, linkage, trans mount, driveshaft, it should all work.
thanks. what do you think the gears will be like. should it have a granny gear? i haven't looked at the truck over in depth yet but i will probly look at it this weekend.
Like others said get as much of the drivetrain from the donor truck as possible everything should be a bolt in deal clutch pedal may need slight alterations z bar clutch linkage crossmember only thing that may give you trouble is the driveshaft
