Hi,
I am new to posting here. I have been reading for quite a while, but never posted. I did a search, but couldn't seem to find anything to answer my questions.
I have a 59 f100 2wd with a 360 swapped in out of a 74 f150. It has an np435 which was also swapped in. The np is starting to go ,and I am starting to search for a trannie to replace it before it leaves me stranded.
I am curious as to what manuals will fit. I have been considering a 5 speed, but am unsure of any that would bolt up without an adapter. I don't have much money, so a huge project is out of the picture. I am not opposed to the idea of a 4 speed, but would like something that doesn't have the compound. It is a 2wd, so I would like 4 usable gears. Just curious as to which trannies will be a direct bolt up. I am willing to mess with driveshaft length if necessary, but would like something that is a 80% direct fit.
Any help would be appreciated.

Mcleod Ind. is an aftermarket supplier of bellhousings. They make adapters to mount almost any trany to the FE. Hope this helps.
