Will a set of 35x12.50/18 Nitto Terra grapplers with a set of 18in wheels fit under my leveld 06 F150 fx4?? Also will a set of 35x12.50/18 Firestone Destination M/t's Fit?? Thanks Guys!!
Oh OK now that they do have in the size but with it being 13.5" wide you are going to end up with some rubbing. One guy on here not long ago said he actually installed those and had the tire rubbing on his control arms.
I know the 295/70's will work and people even do the 325's (which are not available in the Trail's) with little too no rubbing.
There are numerous guys around here who run the 325's and they said they had some minor rubbing at full lock. But all that was on the lower valance and some minor trimming was all it took to fix the problem. Now what one person does is not always going to have the same end results as the next. This will largely depend on the new wheels you are getting and the offset they have.
How come you ruled out the Nitto's they are a great tire and all I put on my truck?
I'm looking at the KMC addicts in a 18in. What offset would you recommend? In PA if your tires stick out over the fender you gotta get fender flares. which dont bother me but i dont want it to look retarded from being way back in either.
On my 20" Monsters and 33x12.5 Toyo M/Ts, I went with a +18mm offset. That makes the tires stick out maybe an 1 to 1.5in (havent measured but it is no more than that). That seems to be a typical offset so I went with that. Plus, I didn't want my tires sticking way out and giving my truck a really wide stance.
Buddy of mine drives like a saint and he had the trail grapplers in a 35 and he only got 30,000 out of them on a jeep. half the weight of my truck
Yeah I hear people all over the place on this one. Some say that with Nitto's you have to rotate them religiously or you will lose miles and others are just like keep pressure correct and go. I personally love my Nittos and will continue to use them but everyone has a tire they like usually.
I'm on my third set of Nittos (first two sets were mud grapplers on my super duty) The mud grapplers got about 35000 on my 8000lb superduty truck. I didn't rotate them religiously so they probably would have gotten more had I rotated them properly. Got the trails on my truck now, and they seem to be doing great. Your not going to find too many mud tires that are going to get more 35-38k miles.
As for if the 12.50s will fit. No they will not fit on stock rims. They will rub like crazy. They are just too wide for the factory rims. The 295/70/r18 Nitto trail grapplers are 34.6 inches tall and only 11.5 inches wide. They are the closest tire to a true 35 inch that you can get to fit on the factory 18s without a bunch of rubbing (Trust me, I know, I looked into every possible factor on whether or not true 35s would fit) mine do not rub at all even at full lock. I am a firm believer in Nitto tires after already having two sets of their mud grapplers. With tires, you get what you pay for.
