33" BFG tire question

I have a question about a set of 33/12.5/16.5 BFG MT tires. I just got a set of like new 33/12.5/16.5 BFG MT tires. I have a set of aluminum directional wheels that measure 12 wide and they are 16.5. Will these tires fit and look ok or will they look silly? I'm not a tire guy and don't want to spend the money for mounting if they won't look good.

They'll "fit" but not very well, and they won't hold a bead very well either, for proper fit a 12.5" wide tire requires a 10" wide (or narrower) wheel.

At minimum a 14.5" wide tire, at maximum a 16.5" wide tire, preferably a 15.5" wide tire.

Ideally the wheel width should be 2-4" narrower than the section width of the tire.

Are you measuring the full width of the rim or just the section the tire beads up against.

Good luck getting thos stiff SOB's to stretch out that far. Most of the time they are tough to get stretched out to a 9.75" wide rim.

Edit - I have mine mounted on 8.25" wide slots with the hopes the narrower wheel will help them stay beaded up.

Those are some wide wheels, too wide for the tires mounted on them, 16.5 wheels have no "safety bead" area, they rely entirely on air pressure to keep the bead seated.
