Input needed, please
I believe I read that any engines that were built after a specific date, (March 15, or something), that these trucks were problem free.
I am inquiring if anyone out there received a truck that was built after this date could provide some information as to what, if any, problems they have had.
Any information you could provide would be appreciated....
Ford is replacing the C94 injectors with new C95 injectors, but the engine line in Indy just started installing the C95's in early April. I doubt that any truck built prior to mid-April has the new injector. The C94 are more prone to side scuffing, particularly during early break-in. The C95's are supposed to help prevent this.
The main problem that I see is that if you have C94's and they go bad, Ford is replacing them one at a time. If the dealer only finds 1 for sure bad one, that is all that Ford will replace. You run the risk of having to go back 8 times to get them all fixed. many people have gone back 2 or 3 times and still have a few C94's.
Ford also apparently has a new PCM reflash due in early/mid June.
If you can wait 'till Fall and get an '04, that is a good idea. The 6.0 is getting more reliable every day, I'm just not sure that Ford is where it should be yet.
Sorry. Don't mean to bash the 6.0. I apologize if I have offended anyone.
