It does make sense, because it was much cheaper for FoMoCo to use the existing 1957/60 Styleside beds, then to design another.

When they did design another, it will be found on 1964/66 F100/250 2WD's, 1966 F100 4WD's only.

Don't forget that the 1961/62 F100/250 (2WD only) Uni Stylesides were the best sellers until 1963, then the 'wrong bed' Stylesides outsold them 2 to 1. Uni cancelled after 1963.

Most peeps back then weren't all that concerned about what the trucks looked like, because they bought them for work.

Prolly 75% of all the trucks back then...were sold as commercial fleet vehicles to construction companies, US Gov't, RR's, petroleum industry, telephone and etc companies.

In fact, 1991 was the first year that more Ford trucks were sold to individuals than as fleet vehicles.

No need to measure, bring a roll of 1/2 or 3/4 masking tape. Put tape on his dash were the holes are. Push a hole with pencil or drill bit where the holes are. Take the tape over to your truck and put it on your dash.
