Hi, I'm on the 57-60 site normally, but need some help here. I picked up this radiator yesterday at a junkyard, I'm installing a 210 cu in cummins diesel in my 59 and need a radiator. I bought this one from an 83 f150 but now I see it looks like it mounts vertically. Does it mount with the tanks top and bottom or on the sides?. Would it work either way? I only paid 50 bucks so I could pass it along........
Been thinking about this. The problems I could see if turned, the return would be top, left side. Gonna go out on a limb and say that's where you need it. Are the hose fittings going to be correct for what you need?
Overflow tube - would run across the top of the radiator, but some of the older cars had it that way.
Mounting - I think that would be the major problem as I wouldn't mount it on the steel strips that are currently on top and bottom, factory was mounted on the tank flanges.
Oh, and the fan shroud, maybe use an electric fan?
Thanks so much! I had planned on using it on it's side like I now see it's supposed to be. That's how I picked my dimensions at the junkyard, but later It looked like I was wrong. I guess it was ok all along. Max width I could go was 27 3/4 and this was 27 1/2, and lower hose on the left. I still need to cut some out of the rad support area. Hoping to use original cummins fan with fluid coupling. This engine is called a 6AT and came from a ups truck . You can see the build called 'kinda like a hot rod but it isn't hot' on the fridge truck site......
