I tried locks that I carry at my hardware store but they have a phillips screw that holds the locking tab on....which hits the inside support metal before the tab can engage the slot to lock it.
Does anyone know where to get locks that have the tab peened on(original) rather than held on with a screw?
I believe they would be considered a 1/4 inch in size.
Trying for once not to have to modify something to get it to work and thought I would ask here before I get out all my catalogs.
Hey Grinner, Just so you know. Ford didn't sell the lock cylinder separate from the latch, it was sold as an assembly.
Incase you can't find a lock cylinder that will work.

I was only able to locate one:
Antique Auto Arlington, Arlington, TX has 1 (817) 275-2381
Also, what about getting one of the latches with a screw. Instead of using the screw, take a short piece of all-thread screw it in in place of the screw and "brad" it over, sortta making your own rivet. Or use the screw and grind the head down enough so it clears.
Yea, I thought of that but the cylinder is made out of pot metal and I was worried about shattering it while peening it over. I guess I can drill the hole that is behind larger but was trying not to tear up more paint.
