Thrust washers
Thrust washers
I am fixing my 2002 f250 super duty 4x4 front axle. Question is, in between wheel hub and axle there is gray plastic thrust washer with four grooves. When I took hubs out come to find out other had grooves outwards and other towards center of truck. Oviously somebody had worked on it before me. WHICH WAY IS CORRECT WAY . GROOVES IN OR OUT ?
Welcome to guzzle's 4x4 Needle Bearing Maintenance Web Page Click on this link, it explains the grooved washers and which way they go and why.
Washer
My truck was missing that thrust washer on one side. The Ford dealer parts guy couldnt find the part on his computor. Do you happen to know the part number.
Been driving with out that washer for a couple of years now.
