Ok got this bright idea idk how well it will work but thought of the idea so I was wondering if anyone knew where to get one and see what everyone thinks
Here it is
Take either a 12 volt oil pump (high flow low pressure, I can't find one) or a pulley driven pump use something like a tranny cooler or something along those lines and a small filter set up and a small reserve tank and it will be the oil for the turbo only
Reason I think this would be a good idea is because a couple causes of turbo failure is lack of oil or dirt in oil and if it's on it's own oil setup especially an electric one it can be primed before you start the truck and can run for a min after you shut the truck off and it doesn't get the dirty engine oil run through it
I have seen a kit in the past where they used a pressurized tank and solinoid. Engine oil pressure would fill tank. When enigine shut down it would feed oil for predetermined time and shut solinoid, holding remainder of oil/pressure. When you started it would open solinoid so you would have immediate pressure to turbo. It did not however have a seperate oil supply. It did increase oil capacity also.
Electric Oil Feed and Scavenge Pumps
Here is a real good read on the subject. I would install some kind of pressure switch to an alarm or even engine shut down in case the turbo lost pressure.
