Is the oil for the turbo supplied by the HPOP? I ask because the parts guy at the dealership told me that having a chip or programer is what causes the EBPV to leak because of higher oil pressure.
I was just wondering if this could be true or just a line of BS.
Hey guys, I was taking things apart trying to get to my valve covers to replace glow plugs and noticed that there was oil all in my turbo pipes and it is leaking out somewhere on top of motor. Looks like it is leaking from the orange rubber boot that goes from bottom of turbo to top of motor. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!
On the driver's side Valve cover there is a box, with a 90* elbow going upwards into the intake tube. Replace the plastic connector with a piece of 4" scrap exhaust pipe from a big-rig shop, and then attach a hose to this 90* elbow, and then route it away from the engine, under the truck somewhere. This is known as the CCV mod, it directs CrankCase Vent oil out of the intake, it's only there for emissions reasons, and that is the oil you see.
Hey Kris, so that explains the oil all over top of the motor and also the oil inside the turbo pipes? Also, I got the glow plugs out and hooked them to a battery and two of them were bad and the other 6 lit up. Is 2 bad ones enough to cause all this cold morning no start stuff?

I thought that oil pressure is less than 60psi while HPOP pressure is in the thousands of psi?
The dealership in Carrolton IL. He was the only one in the state with the parts. The guy also charged me $50 more than the local guys would have if they had had the parts. Oh well, I had to have it going for this week.
