2003 High Pressure Pump Replacement
I am replacing the high pressure pump on my E350 Super Duty van due to a oil leak. I have all the info I need to replace the pump but am confused by a note in the "Technician High Pressure Pump Guide for the 7.3 Power Stroke Engine" guide. The note in question says not to replace the pump and IPR valve at the same time. I've ordered a new IPR valve with the new pump and don't understand the note in the guide. Does anyone know the issues of replacing the pump and IPR at the same time?

I don't know what they meaneither. I replaced my HPOP with a T-500 and a new IPR.
Installed the pump then installed the IPR, maybe that is what they mean.
Easy to damage IPR when installing pump so I followed enclosed (Riffraf)instructions and installed pump first then the IPR
