I am replacing the high pressure pump on my E350 Super Duty van due to a oil leak. I have all the info I need to replace the pump but am confused by a note in the "Technician High Pressure Pump Guide for the 7.3 Power Stroke Engine" guide. The note in question says not to replace the pump and IPR valve at the same time. I've ordered a new IPR valve with the new pump and don't understand the note in the guide. Does anyone know the issues of replacing the pump and IPR at the same time?
that doesnt make any sense....screw the new ipr in and tighten then install the hpop.....not a whole to be worried about just dont get the ipr dirty when you take it out of the box....
They tell you that so that you'll change one item at a time so you'll now what the exact problem was... other than that, forgetaboutit... it means nothing
