im billiding a 351 clevend and wish to doaway with the old oil pump to do this i have come up with a way to run a dry sump but i now nead to know the psi that the standed pump runs at doing this i wish to ellimnate the problem i seam to keep having with shattering the pump drive off the bass of the dissy any hellp would be gratley appreciated thank you in advance
What type of pump are you running that breaks the drive? Use a std volume pump and a std pressure relief valve spring. Anything else wastes HP unless your engine bearings are worn or have large clearances. It also places a large stress on your pump drive. You do not need a high pressure pump under any circumstances. Any debris that can get past your pickup screen will also jam the pump.
