1978 400 Oil capacity
well im just getting ready to start up my engine after the rebuild and i had to find a new dip stick and im not sure if its the right one or not but i put a luittle over 6 quarts in it and it reads in the safe its a 2x4 front sump
just wondering if that sounds about right or not
anyhelp is appreciated

It should hold six quarts. I've only seen one dentside in my life that held seven and it was a '79 F-150 351M 4x4.

my 400 in my bronco has a 9 qt. capacity...

Changed the oil in my 78 f250 4x4 w/ a 400 last week. Used 1 jug (5.2qt), 1 bottle of Lucas oil (1qt) and 1 qt of oil and it's right at full.
