Hey guys, it's been a long time since I made a post here. Glad to see the forum still going strong....
I just bought a used 2001 F250 xl long bed 2 wheel drive with a automatic and the 5.4. It has 118000 on the clock. I bought it just to haul stuff for our thrift shop, it was a old sherwin williams truck with the lift gate and headache rack.
My question is, when it shifts into overdrive it makes a low grinding like sound(kinda like when a tire rubs on the fender well). It only does it when going into overdrive and only for a split second, if I turn it off it never makes the noise. The tranny shifts real good with no slipping and the engine runs great. Anybody have this happen to theres? Or maybe have an idea to what it may be?
I would try posting this question in the superduty forum , Mark K the resident trans export hangs around in that forum and can answer your question.....

You can also probably send him a PM----most likely he'd be more than willing to share some of his expertise!
If he does make sure to send him some Rep Points----he's a valuable guy here in FTE!
