Will be pulling a 16k trailer before to long with my 02 PSD with automatic transmisson. Was always told that if I pulled a trailer with this truck to be sure that I take it out of overdrive as it is hard on the torque converter. I have read on this forum that if the truck will pull the load without shifting in and out of overdrive that this is "ok".
Tell me again your opinion of this situation as I don't want to mess up the transmisson and have a huge labor and repair bill on it. I'm after the better milage that I should get if it will run in overdrive. Your thoughts please...Thanks
I think that you only lock overdrive out when it wants to hunt around in and out of overdrive. But it would be kind-of hard to run along with traffic on a main road (65-70mph) without overdrive. You'll get used to when to hit the o/d button every now and then.
