A/C Compressor

Is it true that the a/c compressor runs when the selector is in the defrost position?

Mine seems to be running all the time no matter what I set the selector on except for the "off" position.

I don't know if mine is on ALL the time, but i'm sure it runs in defrost setting.

It definitely runs in defrost. That's what gets the moisture off the glass.

It cycles in every setting except floor only, vent only and off.

But mine cycles in every setting. What would cause this?

A bad control switch or a wiring short. Something is telling the PCM to cycle the A/C.
