upper bolt came out of my passenger side front shock, does anyone know what bolt I need to buy to fix this correctly?

I will try Budget autowrecking tomorrow I'm not sure if it should be a stripper bolt or something special don't want to cause undue wear on the bracket. I was told by the previous owner this happened before so it may not have had the correct bolt anyway

I would imagine it would be the same bolt in the drivers side, so you could remove it and head on down to the hardware store.

Metric, huh? Interesting. I always wonder how they made the decision back then as to which fastener was going to be standard vs metric. Perhaps the engine, being from International, is all standard while the chassis itself and all Ford OEM parts (like the PS pump) are metric? I dunno.

Anywho, thanks for posting that info. Always nice to have that sort of stuff available via a search for future reference.

my view on the metric vs standard decision is that everything that was newly designed after a certain point used metric hardware, while everything before that point used standard. many things carried over from earlier models, so the standard thread was still used for many years after they made the decision that all "new" designs were to be metric
