i just put a set of hadley ambassador air horns on my truck. this is the best thing that ive done to the truck since i bought it. the sound like a big rig. it is so fun to surprise people, and to blow rice burners off the road. plus i can fill up tires and such with the on board compressor and tank. anyone tryin to find a mod that youll have a lot of fun with should try this one.

I found an air tank from the brakes on an old school bus (about 5.5 gallons). It mounted nicely under the bed on the outside of the pass side frame rail. Then I found a rebuilt Thomas 12V compressor and mounted it in the engine compartment behind the driver?s side headlight. Next I found a set of military surplus air horns (16" & 10") from a 2.5 ton army truck and mounted them on the frame rail behind the pass side front wheel. I used a relay connected to an accessory circuit so that the compressor will only run when the key is on. Oh, and I wired the air solenoid in with the factory horn switch but I ran it through a rocker switch first. If the rocker switch is down, the horn is stock... if up, both the stock horn and air horns blow. I also have it set up with a quick connect so that I can plug an air hose in and pump tires. I love it and the wife hates it!
i dont have any pics(no digital camera), but i will try, within the next week or so get the film developed into one of those picture cds. nafizmo that sounds like the best way to go about getting the parts together, this set cost me $300. but it sounds like you have the wiring set up the same way i do. where did you mount your switch? this mod is trick thank god i dont have a wife to **** off!!!

FYI, head to Wal-mart! They got real cheap digitals! i just picked on up for $21.97. Here is an example of the picture quality from it.
Wow. I havn't seen one for that price. I'm trying to pick one up. I'll then have to learn how to format and such to put them in the site. Of course if I lived in Hawaii. it might be diffrent. must be nice.

I have $50 in the compressor, $30 in the 5.5 gal air tank (I wanted heavy duty), $35 in horns (then they charged me $30 shipping but that's another story). I probably have $200 and a couple head aches in them. The 2002 trucks have a plastic plug in the dash next to the cubby hole. It was for the adjustable pedals switch. I bought a second plug from the dealer ($3) and took the dremel to it. That is where I installed a micro rocker switch from autozone.
too bad i dont have that panel. i dont really like the idea of cutting into the dash. ill have to think of some other wasy of doing it. i want to put three switches in. one for the horns, one for the mirror defrosters, and a extra for future use. i just might have to fabricate somethin.
thanks for the info on the camera.

Yep. Not pretty chrome, these are painted OD and hidden well. Not a deep tone but really loud. Real attention getters. I like them. Oh, and the unused trunk button on the remote starter key chain... that solenoid is hooked to the horn! Everyone needs an airhorn that they can blow from 400'!!!
