does anyone know if the factory spray in bedliner is the same as the stuff used to paint the flat load floor in the back of crew cabs of the previous generation?
Can't speak about the previous CC's flooring, but I can say factory spray in looks and feels like a Line-x liner to me. Had a Rhino Liner in my '05 and this liner is much harder and rougher texture.
unfamliar with line x. the fold out floor in the rear seat is not smooth but not sandpaper like either. stuff can slide. but still has a rugged finish. i like the slide ability of bed liners as its easier to load stuff. then i just tie em down if im worried about it moving
+1 for LinX spray in bed liners. I love them. Plan on having the interior of my trailer floor done this spring. It works great on enclosed trailer floors and ramps.
Why are you asking? Did you order the factory spray on your new truck or were considering adding it? I have the factory spray and can say I have not been able to scratch it. I have had sand, stone, mulch, large rocks, etc. And have unloaded most of this with my loader scraping the bed as I go, still have not scratched it.
It has a very fine sandpaper feel to it and seems thin. The Line-X that is on my Diamondback cover seems much thicker and a little rougher.
thats good info, thanks. are you familiar with the flat load (fold up) floor that is in the 6.4 and earlier trucks? it folds under the seat of the crew cab models?

I know what you are referring too, I used to have an '08 truck. No, the factory bed liner is not that refined in its finish. More similar to line x but not as thick.
And, I have line x sprayed onto my trailer floors too! Highly recommended! And, only line x, it's the best system out there.
For what its worth I would strongly recommend against getting the factory liner. I ordered my truck without it intentionally. The price for the factory liner was consistent with what the local Line-X dealer charges here except that I get a lifetime warranty with Line-X and I believe the factory liner is only covered under the 3/36.
im actually going with the drop in liner...kind of a fan of that.
Personally, drop ins are all I have ever had. After having the spray in I will never go back. Get the spay in, whatever type you like, you will not regret it.
oh and will the bed still drain with line x if the nose of the truck is parked downhill and its raining? or would i have to drill some drainage holes like i did in my drop in liner
