I need to wire an electric diesel pump, and would like to use the upfitter switch to control it. The pump draws 20A, so I'm going to use 10/2 jacketed wire, and the 30A lead on switch #1.
Forgive a carpenter's understanding of electrics here...
The power side of the circuit goes from the (+) lead on the pump to the blunt cut wire under the dash for my upfitter switch, I think? Thus having switched power only when the ignition is in the Run position?
Where do I run the neutral side to? Should I run the (-) lead from the pump all the way to the (-) post on the battery, or is there another place this needs to go?
