leaking water problem

welll hello there!!!!!!!!
i have a problem. i took my truck to some dunes and it started leaking water so i went home scared that it would heat up on me. never did after driving for an hour. got home checked underneath and couldn't find where it was leaking i just know it was some where behind the main pulley.
put water in it. didnt leak any more till two days later this time it leaked alot more cheaked again and i coulnt find exactly where it was leaking from. drove 15 min home and it was heatin up alot more. i didnt let it get hoter then 3/4.(i would park it then go) im not an expert but if im right pumps leak from a little hole under the pumps neck when they're tired or broken i guess.
the problem i have now is that when i took off the pump 3 screws/bolts broke
the little hole didnt look like it was leaking.
how can i get them out?????
is it easier to replace the timing chain cover???

Your water pump is under that main pulley (it's the one with the fan, right?), the seal is probably giving up, so i would advice replacing it (check anyway to see where the leaks is coming from exactly, it could be an old hose coming into the pump). In any case it's an easy job, just don't let too much time pass by without solving that issue or you could mess that engine up.

To extract broken bolts you might need something like this: http://www.fastenal.com/web/products...3162723&ucst=t
(it was just the result of a search, i haven't used this product).

Btw, Welcome to FTE! .

I think a reverse water pump is required depending on the model of vehicle you own, and my guess is that the pump will try to pump the water in the opposite direction of your system, I don't think this would help and it will probably make you kill the engine and pump (Usually it goes like this: WP -> engine -> cooling system -> WP). Just find which is the proper replacement for your pump (then again, it might be a reverse, but it would only depend on your engine, using the wrong pump isn't an upgrade). Try our Sponsors up there ^ for the new hoses and WP.
