well today my truck spang a major leak. It drained a full radiator in less than 10 minutes. So i tackled the task of removing half of the motor to get to the water pump. Once i got the water pump off and remaining gasket removed this is what i found. it is a where a piece of the rim broke off where the water pump seals against the engine. Any suggestions on how i can fix this?

If I remember correctly, water doesnt flow in the center cavity normally, only when the pump to plate gasket is bad. Water only is supposed to flow between the two ports inside the plate on the waterpump. That notch is to let it drain in case of a leak I believe.
