Anyone ever have any problems with aftermarket steering gears?
Ive purchased 3 now from advance auto, first 2 leaked at the pressure port now the 3rd one is leaking some out of the other port (non-pressurized i think).
Sure thing. I have never personally used them, but I have heard great things about them from those who have. If you end up getting one, you'll have to fill us in on the details and let us know how you like it.
I have purchased a box from redhead. I am wondering if I should replace the power steering pump akind of contaminates from the worn box? I got both new lines. one was starting to leak. I dont want wreck the new steering box.
If it were me, I would just do the best I could to flush it out with some fresh fluid and then put it all back together. Maybe put fresh fluid in it (with the old lines in place then run it until the res is empty (repeat if you wish) then install the new lines and box and call it a day.

I read some where that some use sythetic atf for power steering fluid. Is this better. The steering box I got from redhead has red fluid in it....
