Whenever I have a question about what parts fit what year I go to sites like LMC, Autozone etc. and enter the model/ year and search. Then enter a different model/ year and compare the part numbers.
Or a lot of times the catalog will tell you without doing multiple searches:

Where are you located? When you do a search, there are a few threads that NumberDummy has posted some of the Ford dealers that still have some NOS stock tailgates. I just bought one myself for $250.

Ask NumberDummy for a list of some near your area. They may not all be that close to you though. You might have to weigh the option of a road trip. I drove 100+ miles and over 2 hours to get mine.
