Tailgate year compatibility?
Hello,
I have a 1992 F350 XLT, longbed, crew cab, 7.3L IDI, 4x4, 5 speed. The PO removed the tailgate and I need one. Does anyone know which year models will fit mine so I know what to search for?
I did find one from a "95 ford F- 150 4.9l L6" Anyone know if it will fit? Don't care about trim or color as long as it fits, just need a gate...

Before 87 the latching hardware is different, won't work on a 92 model without some fairly major reworking done to it first, either gate or box or both.
87-96/97HD will be a direct fit slight cosmetic differences through the years but body lines are a match.
