Bumper brackets for styleside
I need a pair of bumper brackets for a contour or sport bumper for a styleside 73/79 and a member has a pair from a bronco. Does any one know if they are the same? Thanks ,Tom

Contour bumper brackets are hard to come by cuz most opted to tow so a heavy, 75-lb dock bumper was the choice. Frame-mounted Class III hitches seemed not to be in the market back in the day. Got my hitch off a Bronco in the JY for $23.
I don't think 78-79 Bronco brackets will work. Broncos have a slightly shorter body overhang beyond the frame. I searched up and down in my area and couldn't find a set. Frustrated, I opted to modify a pair of late 80s Bronco brackets by sectioning in some 3/16ths plate so it reach the forward-most bolt hole and did the same to the outer brackets.
