On my 1999 F250 when I select a blower speed (either heat or air doesn't matter) the low #1, the low-medium #2, and real fast #4 selection on the turn **** work but the selection #3 like medium high still blows at the same speed as #2. And that is on any position also whether it be the face, feet, defrost, etc.
What would be the first culprit to blame? The ****/switch itself and not the actual blower motor?
I would suspect the resistor. When the blower is on full blast it is getting a full 12 volts. but when you change to any other setting it goes through the resistor wich actually has several resistors built into it and power it directed through 1 for high-med, 2for low-med and 3 resistors for low.
Best way to check is get a wiring diagram and make sure the resistor is getting power on all circuits as you change the speed.
i vote for resistor too. In case u need to know where it is, its on the firewall immediately to the right of the blower motor. It has two 8 mm screws that hold it in and one connector to it. It can be changed in about 10 mins.

You read my mind...I was preparing to ask as I read down the list.
Thanks alot gang for the info. I will get to work on that over the weekend.
Well my incompetence is rearing its head here. I guess I am going to need a picture of where that component is at. I looked up under the glove box and obviously I don't know what I am looking for.......looser!!!!!
If any one has a photo please share it or e-mail it directly to me at rcfaulk at masoncountyoes dot com
