Heat from welding will help to make the EZ-out softer and hopefully able to drill it out. If the welded nut does not get it to back out. EZ out is very hard and can opnly be drilled with carbide drill. Problem with carbide drill is expense to buy in the first place and you really need it in a drill press to keep from any bending that will cause it to break. Feel sorry for your troubles, I hope to never be in your situation.
For all you EZ-out guys and the troubles they cause: Get multi-spline extractors instead. These are better and a lot less likely to break. Left hand drill bit is also a good idea as it is trying to back out the broken bolt/GP/whatever while it is drilling. Of course you need to run the drill in reverse, just in case any confusion on that.
