2000 excursion

Just bought this less than 4 days ago. Ran perfect the first 250 miles on the trip back home. I noticed after I filled the tank the exhaust skipping at low idle. Runs fine when on the road and but when at idle it runs pretty ruff. No engine lights on. I'm wondering if it's just the gas. The truck has been sitting for awhile without being driven. The previous owner did just put all new col packs on. It has the v10. I love this truck and hope its not major!!! Thanks for any help or advice you can give.

Chad

Welcome to FTE Chad. You could be looking at spark plugs, a bad COP or simply bad fuel. Personally, I would buy a bottle of Chevron Techron "Concentrate" Cleaner. I would try one large bottle (for 20 gal) and one small (10 gal). Pour that in to see if that cleans things up.

If that doesn't work then you can try pulling each plug off the COP's one at a time to see which cylinder is not firing. Then you can go from there.

Good luck. Don't forget to join us over on the Excursion thread. Excursion - King of SUVs - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
