Color Code Missing

I have a 68 f250 and it does not have the color code stamped on the door tag and was wondering what the official red for that year was?

Rangoon Red??

on early mustangs this meant that a special color was used , could be a mistake or they painted it with a lincoln/mercury color or ?
any pics ?

Yep, Rangoon Red was a standard color for that year.

An unstamped color code could mean that it was ordered with a special color (like some Mustangs I've seen painted School Bus Yellow and Mack Truck Orange!)... OR it maybe the factory worker mis-stamped the warranty plate. All sorts of strange stuff happened back in the 60s.

Have you checked under the door panel to see if the door is even original for the truck? Most folks won't pull the bed for paint so I'd check the back of the cab or peek behind the in-cab fuel tank to see if the colors are consistent with each other.
