Truck prices in your neck of the woods?

The son-in-law is looking for a truck and likes the looks of the OBS better than the Super Duty trucks. With fuel prices starting to creep up again, are you starting to see the prices of these trucks take a nosedive yet? I've started poking around Craigslist here and pricing seems to be all over the place.

Just trying to get a feel for things so we know if it's better to wait or try and jump on a deal now.

Here in the east I haven't really seen a nosedive, but they might be coming down a little.
All I hear from people when they find out I have a diesel is "have you seen the price of diesel fuel !!!" I'd say if the prices of fuel go up any more, the truck prices may start to drop a little more. The OBS prices will probably hold up more than the rest though. Good luck, Hope you guys find one.

Around here an OBS with less than 250k miles on it goes for about the same money as a super duty with the same mileage. And if you're not deterred by the 6.0 you can get a pretty nice truck for little money. You can pick up a marginal condition, higher mileage (300k) OBS PSD for around $4-5k but getting one in good shape with less than 200k miles is going to cost you $7-8k at least. But to answer your shorter question the market for these diesels seems to be softening around here but the prices have not taken a decided nosedive as of yet. They're dropping slowly though.

Staying high around here. I saw a 96 regular cab 350 yesterday (it was at a dealer) with 150k on it for 11,995. Nice truck, but prices are staying up there for sure.

Here the prices are about what Nate stated...
I picked mine up year n a half ago now when she had 158k miles. She was in great condition (little more rust now, but a lot more power too). cost me 6200 from private owner. Got a great deal cuz the guy bought it for 2k... put about 3k into it in the 5 months he owned it (Nov 2010-March 2011) and never drove it that winter then sold it to me! lol
He had 2 other OBS diesels and a 2010 CCLB dually diesel.. so I think he just did this for fun..

7.3's are bringing more money than 6.0's around here. Prices in this part of the world always seem to be a bit higher than down in TX or in the mid-west part of the country.

I haven't noticed prices dropping any yet. I'm sure fuel prices are going to go crazy this summer, so maybe diesel trucks will start to drop in price a bit.

What's he looking for Chris? I'll keep an eye out down here.

I think he's just looking for a good deal. He seems to like the idea of a short bed, but with a baby on the way, he's just waiting for a good deal to show up.

It would be kind of funny if you found something though. Austin helped me by checking out my wife's truck at a local dealer down in your neck of the woods. Haven't seen him online for a while. How's he doing?

If anything they are going up. People think that there rotted bedside truck is worth 7000 because it has a diesel in it with 260000 miles. Just irritates me.

Thanks for the links guys. The rep gods tell me to spread it around first. Looks like some of you are seeing the same prices I am. Anywhere from pretty reasonable to way too expensive. I've seen a few ads around here in the 4k range but was wondering how bad of condition they might be in to go for that cheap.

It's kind of sad that a really nice OBS sells for more than a nice 6.0. I guess that means the secret's out.

I see the 7000 price more often up here. My next one will come from the nashville area. Much better shape in that area from everything I've seen. Even as far south as we are to the rust belt its hard to find a rust free truck up here. The guys with rust want what rust free guys do it alot of cases.

I want that Black Reg Cab Manual!!!!!!!
I promised myself I would only get a second truck once my first truck has 400+hp

lol
I dont want to be like my friend who has his 02 7.3PSD and decided to buy an 07 6.0... NOW he cant do any mods to either since maintenance/fuel covers his extra pennies.
Oh and a truck payment...
