Hope you got it running buddy. Since I didnt hear from you I assume that you've been alright trying to tackle it yourself. I'll be available all day tomorrow if you cant get it running today.
We didnt try to unhang it. We figured since Bryce is installing a new HPOP in the future (If we can get that dang bolt off), might as well go all out and get a new IPR for the peace of mind. He is gonna tear into the old IPR and see if he can use it as a spare. After spring break we are going to try using my dremmel to cut off that bolt head and get that T500 in
Thanks all. Bryant and Palmer especially. Back up and running thank god. Too bad it had to be such an expensive mistake. Peace of mind... peace of mind.... thats what I keep telling myself for justification.
It'll be nice when I can bolt that brand new IPR on that t-500 and put it in as one unit. Cant wait to get that dang bolt off. Good call on not messing up the stock hpop. Talked to Joey and he is being very lenient due to my situation.
I always seem to have bad news to go with good news.
After 8 hours of agonizing pain. We got the bolt out and the T-500 in.
We started by trying the extractors again. No luck. Then we resorted to trying an easy out. Only issue is that even the titanium drill bits were barely making a dent in the bolt so we couldn't get it drilled enough to get the easy out on there. Finally, I called bryant and asked if we could use his dremel disks. He gave me a box of goodies and I headed back (THANKS BRYANT !!). A While later, I finally got the head of the bolt cut off. But the issue is that it was a bolt and collar setup. I knew tahis from the get go but there was no way to get in between the HPOP and the collar. So I switched from a disk after getting the head off and started grinding down the collar until it was flush. A little flathead screwdriver action and it came off. We then grabbed the shaft of the bolt with some vice grips and it twisted right out. Surprisingly easy on that part.
Got the T-500 in and everything almost all the way buttoned up. We were on the home stretch when I was tightening the very last fuel line into the fuel bowl. SNAP !!!!
I broke my FPR (Fuel Pressure Release Valve). So now the threads of the FPR are stuck in the fitting and I am stuck until I get a new one and somehow get that unstuck.
It's 3:30 in the morning and I have to be up at 5:45.
I need to get on Guzzles site and buy the special FPR with a new sleeve I suppose.
It's always something. . . Maybe I can find someone with a parts truck around here ...
