SD bolt pattern/wheel question

I have a 2004 F250 with crappy looking 16" steel wheels. I'm wanting to know if 2005-2012 OEM F250 wheels will fit on my 2004. It sounds like the bolt patterns are the same (8 lug 170mm) but I'm reading I might need spacers as the "depth" has changed...??? I've been running searches and confused as hell. Any info you guys can give me would be appreciated.

Any 2005+ wheel will bolt up, but will have a decreased foot print due to offset. You will need 2" spacers to return them to the proper position.
