I've been considering some slotted mags or centerline wheels but am having trouble finding the correct bolt pattern for my truck, I've seen others with those wheels and am wondering if they found the correct bolt pattern or used some kind of adapter, any drawbacks to an adapter?
Thanks
F100/150 is 1/2 ton and 5 on 5 1/2" or F250 is 3/4 ton and is 8 on 6 1/2" bolt pattern. Adapter puts the wheel out a bit further, could have or cause fender/tire clearance issues and those adapters are not the best idea anyway. For one thing they put more stress on the wheel bearings.
Summit racing, and Eagle sale a broad selection of rims, if its a 1/2 ton you should be able to find some old slotted mags alot easier than for a 3/4 ton.
I went wheel shopping for my '78 F250. Tried several places and finally used Summit. You can search on your bolt pattern to find lots of options. As mentioned above, bolt pattern depends if its a 150 or 250 or 350.
As far as adapters, lots of downsides including loosing wheel bolt torque/loose wheel. Better to find a wheel with correct bolt pattern.
