Here's my situation: It was the day to work on the X. I finally got around to upgrading to my cross drilled/slotted rotors and ceramic pads all the way around on the X. While I had the front apart I used my Snowseeker zerk and lubed my front bearings as well.
The brakes are fantastic, there is a HUGE difference in braking ability over stock. My problem is the ABS. Reguardless of how I brake, as soft as possible or a hard stop, the ABS is kicking in when I get close to a complete stop, around 5-8mph it kicks on completely. I'm on hard surface roads, clean, dry, with no slip whatsoever. I tried braking as gently as I can an it is still kicking in.
Are the brakes that aggresive that they grab that hard, is it possible that the grease affects the ABS sensor some how, or am I missing something? It makes for a really annoying driving experience!
I don't know much about it but it sounds like the abs "thinks" the wheels are locked when you come close to a stop. I'd pull the rotors off and take a look. Is it possible some grease got a little messy and is interfering with the abs sensor?
That's exactly what it is doing. I'm not sure if it's the sensors or brakes, that's the bad thing about doing it all at once. I'm hoping someone has had something similar happen to help. I'm leaning more towards the sensors because it brakes evenly and smoothly until the speed gets way down but I don't know if that means I pit too much grease in there or if I messed up the sensors
I went drilled/slotted with ceramics recently and have had no problems (braking is great!). I did not remove the ABS sensor or grease anything other than slide pins. So, check those ABS sensors and clean them real good.
I greased my front bearings not long ago with Mobil synthetic.....no issues. What grease did you use ? Was it a Moly ? There is not much that can go wrong with just removing the sensors and reinstalling.

I used valvoline synthetic lube. I got it fixed. I took the abs sensors out, cleaned them up and used a q tip to clean the grease out of the hole the sensor goes in. This might help anyone that does a front bearing grease!
