found a 99 powerstroke.need opinions...

I traded my 01 f350 for. 05 cummims n i wish i never did.the new common rails are to preblematic n exspensive.so i found a late 99 f250 155k on the clock.clean truck no rust has a 6sp tranny and is 4x4 has a 6in lift with 22 in rims.there asking 15k for it but i cant pay that much bc it has some issues. first off the down pipe was broke right off at the turbo, the snap on part of the dash was all cracked n beat up.and they had aftermarket fog lights put on but the wiring is running from under the dash with a toggle switch.the oil pan is leaking on the side where an oil heater is and up by the front main seal is leaking also.not bad just enough to irritate me.the motor is tight with no blow bye and idles nice n smooth.what would u pay for the truck? u can see pics of it on crosscountryent.com thanks

I paid $11,400 for my 99 a year and a half ago. Pretty much stock, auto, excellent condition and only 112k miles. With what you are saying about the condition of the truck it makes me wonder how well the previous owner really maintained it. I wouldn't buy it. How is the green 99 they have listed for sale?

im not sure about shady...but they are known to have good prices, therefore giving less for trades. they talked me into selling my other truck outright instead of trading. took a little longer, but made out better. have not been there for over 2 years, but before it was a family run business with great people. good luck, but get the truck you want that was maintained properly.

Seem's kinda high, shoot, I could ask 15,000 for my 03 returned to stock and its clean. My advice is shop around, don't settle unless your totally satisfied.

I can trade my 99 F450 for it.
I love the early 7.3l . Looks to me it has more HP than the 2000 I have in F250, but automatic transmission can be to blame for the difference.
But F450 with all the commercial requirements in CA is killing me in legal fees.
