87 ranger weight limit
Hey guys, earlier last week I bought this truck. I'm a mason so nothing about my job is light, haha. My question is how much weight can I fill it with. Just thought I'd ask before loosing an axle down the road. The truck is a 2.9 v6, manual trans 4x4. It doesn't seem to be stock ride height , but I'm not sure?? First ford. It has 31" tires and my boss said it looks like 1ton leafs on it. Any advise is great. Or any suggestions to see how I can tell if it's got a non stock suspension

Welcome to FTE. I had an '86 2wd 2.9 5 speed and it was a decent vehicle for 61,000 miles all those years ago. I can't find a year-specific spec, but this says 1260lbs for the payload:

I would guess you are going to really feel 1200 lbs in the back of that truck with the 2.9.
