I have a 1983 full size bronco with the 5.0 and i am not getting any spark while in start or run positions. the only time it does is when i let off the key and it sparks once. the coil tests good has a new ign module and i have respliced the wires to the distributor as per the wiring diagram at a loss from here any help would be appreciated
Is the alternator internally regulated or is there an external regulator on it? If the regulator is bad, it could be that the alternator is killing the modules on you. Or you are just not getting enough voltage to the module.

That right there is the classic symptom of a DuraSpark II ignition system that can fire the ignition coil, but doesn't, because it is not getting pulses from the pickup inside the distributor.
Disconnect the plug into the distributor, and ohm out the two wires to the pickup. There may be three wires, one of them is a ground, you want the other two. Colors might be orange and purple. Should see something like 1000 to 2000 ohms or so if good. You are looking for an open (much higher resistance) or a short in winding of the pickup (way too low of resistance) if bad.
