Does anyone have any experience with both the Boost Tube and the Boost Fooler in the link above? I purchased a 99 F250 and it came with an Edge Evolution programmer (just sold it and going to go with another option) and both the Boost Tube and Boost Fooler from BD Diesel Performance. I found a post on this site from BD Diesel saying they included the tube and fooler with every Edge Evolution they sold so I assume the truck's previous owner purchased the package from BD Diesel. Are they something I should keep on the truck or remove? Thank you.
The Boost Fooler is the electronic equivalent of the Clay's OCR (MAP regulator) which limits the amount of boost pressure the the PCM "sees". The Boost Tube bleeds off some of the pressure applied to the Wastegate Actuator to allow more boost pressure before the WG opens. You can leave both in place. Most tuners don't use the tube anymore and can be removed. The Fooler can be left in place and you can see if you get any overboost codes with the new tuner. If you don't, leave it there.
