They were unlocked. The night and day difference was me going to the same spot I got the truck stuck in yesterday and doing the same thing but trying the 4x4. Obviously it's going to be a big difference but it's nice having it working.

You caN GET CENTER CAPS with the hole in the center. If you cut them they will rust on the cut edge and look like crap. I'd just leave them off, take a measurement of the hole in the center of the wheel, and try to find the ones with the hole. JMO

They are off for now, but also plastic so rust won't be an issue on them.

As you can see I removed the center section from the fronts.

Ditto. They look perfectly fine without the centercaps on the front. I guess the PO didn't use 4WD often.

agreed, having to take them off or drill out the centers is pain....just leave then off.
