Kinda worried!

Hey all our 2002 Ford F250 V10 has been doing alot of work and recently we tried to move one thing around the ranch which was big. A 50 ft mobile home loaded with a whole bunch of crap in reverse up hill and the tounge jack digging into the ground the truck started to heat up. Our transmission gauge stayed where it was but I know for sure that puppy was getting hot because the truck was radiating heat like crazy all around you could feel it off the transmission. Luckly nothing went wrong with the transmission but trying to figure out about this transmission gauge how come it isn't working. It goes about mid between on the gauge.
By the way heating up the transmission the other day did something unbelievable it fixed the truck stressing to get over this one hill in our town.

The transmission temp gauge on these trucks is just a dummy gauge. Anywhere in the normal range it shows middle of the gauge. Were you in low range when you were doing this?

no 4wd high hubs manually locked! I kept telling my dad to throw it in low range but he wouldn't listen.

Oh ya for sure. I don't know why my dad wasn't locking it in high. But the truck did pull 2 44fters Without a problem.

Lol pull it in 4x4 low and your trucks transmission will last longer, and all around run cooler lol. Your truck will love you to haha. Id never pull that trailer in 4x4 high. Unless i was on very slippery ground because 4x4 low has alotta torque and youd be breaking the tires loose alot.
