I've been running a tuned FICM for 2 years. I was running an ID tuned FICm for performance that hurt my mileage but would rock the house. I switched to the PHP tune for mileage and more intown driveability. Two totally different animals.
I'm gonna do another thread about this in a minute,But since you brought it up first,I'll ask you now.
Are there or have you had any ill affects from having a tuned FICM?
Yes it does lag a little over stock, but for whistle, man the powermax delivers, it seems to pull harder right above 2k while towing and above, but below that it does seem a little more lag time over stock. I put it on my truck as a stock replacement no tuner yet.

I watched your video on youtube...It does sound good!
As for lag,Do you think it's really that big of a deal?
I daily drive my truck,I don't race it and drive like a grampa.Do you think it would be fine for that kinda use?I'm now thinking of not tuning it for the PM?
With all the talk of tuning,Some say you have too and some say you don't.My head is spinning!
It all come's down to me being to chicken to change any strategies on my truck.I worrie that I will just cause myself money and headaches down the road.

The difference is not that bad, I would buy it again if that's what your asking, to me the sound is so bad *** I could care less about a little lag. I guess it depends on the driver.
raptor131, after a good custom tune the pm whistles like mad, and it pulls crazy fast
Nice! What tunes do you recommend? I have stock TTY's, yet I was thinking of getting the sctitsx for my iPad and using Matt at gear heads for custom tunes for it, I don't drive my truck everyday but it is hauling a 35 ft TT a couple times a year. But wanted tunes for that reason. Plus the itsx has the custom gauges with custom parameter warning light function

Yea what I was basiclly getting at was,Are you happy with how the truck drives and tows with no program? It sounds like you are!
if you are just looking for the whistle, u could get a wheel off an 03 turbo or get an 03 turbo. without tuning, the pm will make ur truck slower and even more sluggish. it would b worth it more going to the 03 turbo is all ur after is whistle
raptor131, mat @ grearhead will write you some great custom power max tunes. He helped me out on the weekend when i was out of town & wanted his 8 k tow tune. That tune wouldn't let the egt above 1100! His tune is quicker (14.25 sec @ 99 mph!) than from the other vendor.
