help with new gauge install

Installed a set of gauges in my truck. A few issues. Water temp is showing 210 when factory gauge is at half way point, does this seem normal? The transmission gauge will go all the way as far as it can as soon as the key is turned where should I start to diagnose the transmission gauge? (sending unit ?) I went with glowshift gauges

Call Glowshift tomorrow. They were a great help when I had questions about my install.
As far as water temp. don't know. I didn't install that gauge.

1. Ignore the factory gauges. They generally dont move unless there are extreme conditions.

2. Check your connections. Make sure nothing is in the wrong spot, or on the wrong contact.

3. Call GlowShift (haha... Goodluck).

Sounds like a possible bad ground on the trans gauge, where did you attach it to? And despite others experience I have never had an issue getting through with tech support.

X2 for the bad ground on your sensor.

I got my ground source from one of the bolts that holds the dust cover on for the flywheel. I guess that may not be a good ground source. So what is the correct temp for the water? Seems like 210 is a bit high. As for calling glowshift I did just that today and had no problems getting thru. They said ground also.

What thermostat do you have installed? If it's a 203 that may be accurate. I personally do not monitor coolant temps so have no accurate data for you.

not sure on thermostat. I tapped into the water system on the opposite side of the water neck from the factory location. There was a plug there seemed like a good place.

After inspecting your ground, switch the trans and water gauges. They are the same, and see if you get the same reading again.
